A girl called Misaki Himonya
Seishō Senior High School was an old school with a history. With construction finished in 19██, ████ (omitted). Since then, it has been modified and extended many times, resulting in what it is now. The elegant old school building is surrounded by trees all around, the relatively neat new school building is well-equipped with all sorts of facilities, the garden in between the buildings is attentively taken care of, and you can feel the breadth of the site just by walking through it.
At this school, I finished my entrance exams with no issues, and my fabricated student life finally begun.
Since I had lost almost all memories of my own past, it was essentially as if this was the first time I was attending school. For the time being I wasn't particularly inconvenienced, thanks to the worldly wisdom and prerequisite knowledge that were drummed into me at the Organization. It also seemed like no one thought that my background was a sham. There have been cases where I was unable to give a proper answer in conversations, and I've had classmates look at me like I'm untrustworthy, but I figured I would just correct myself every single time.
In order to proceed with my work safely and smoothly, I would have to blend into this town as a typical high school student. For that sake, I was willing to attend class seriously and tackle school events properly. "It's alright for you to enjoy student life without holding back. It's also a way for you to learn more about society," is what Amaki had told me.

There is an interesting student in my assigned class, class 1-C. She's a girl called Misaki Himonya. Her pink pigtails are enough to make her stand out considerably, but she made the whole class freeze up when in her homeroom self-introduction, she bombastically announced: "I am looking for people to help me investigate ghosts, ghost stories, and supernatural phenomena!". Either she has a strong adoration for the occult, or she is simply a type who cannot read the room.
After school one day, just when I was considering going out to the city to collect some information for my investigation, Himonya called out to me:
Dialogue: He- hey! Are you interested in this school's ghost stories or in ghosts!? I'm investigating these sorts of things...! Dialogue options: "Ghost stories?", "I'm interested", "Not really".
The majority of school ghost stories and urban legends are no more than exaggerated visual misperceptions or misunderstandings, but in very rare cases they lead to the real deal. In other words, they are sufficiently valuable as clues for finding Lost Property. Since I wanted to get at least a little bit of information, I first decided to answer "I may be interested". Then, Himonya's stiffened facial expression suddenly turned cheerful. "Really!? Nanashi, I could feel you were on "this side"~" It appeared as if she had called out to many people and had was continually being refused, until she finally came to ask me.
"You see, I've been doing these kinds of activities for a while..." As if to introduce herself again, she showed me the notebook she had been carrying along. Inside it was dense writing, and there were pictures attached here and there. To my surprise, there were detailed descriptions of an objective approach to the occult written down. Reference materials related to ghosts and supernatural phenomena, information from the internet, field studies on the scene, interviews with those who have experienced them, results from the times she tried to reproduce situations, etc... On top of her collecting data concretely, she concludes whether the rumors are true or false. She appeared to be a real scientist. "Wow... you did this all by yourself?" In response to these words, which accidentally spilled from my mouth as I ended up enthousiastically reading, Himonya's face became slightly upturned. Since all of her classmates treated her hobby with an attitude as if it were some sort of tumor, she might have felt relieved that someone who understood her had finally appeared. "These sorts of stories are vague in all sorts of ways, so I'm trying to research them as much as I can in a way that someone who reads it can agree, you see," she said somewhat excited.
Inside her notebook, there was also a listing of rumors she had currently marked as her objectives.
Misaki Himonya's Investigation Notebook Currently in progress: "Obtaining a base for our activities" (Seishō High School, Old School Building, 3rd floor), "Rumors of a moving plaster figure" (Seishō High School, Art Room), "The truth behind the mutilation murder case?" (Café Donguri), "Weird man from the candy store" (Kurouzu Shopping District), "Rumor about the Meaty Dining Hall" (Seishō High School)
Obtaining a base for our activities I have started a club for like-minded people to investigate ghosts. First off, I want an empty classroom to become our base of operations. However, the room in the old school building I was set on using seems to have become a meeting place for delinquent students... Rewards: 200$, High-grade band-aid x2. Note: "Room" will be unlocked.
"Seishō High School is known around the neighbourhood partially because it has the so-called Seven Wonders, you know? That is the reason why I chose it as my next school. By the way, right now I'm looking into the rumor of a moving plaster figure in the art room. Also, I've heard from older years' students that there used to be a dining hall in the old school building, and I'm curious about that as well. In fact, there are no records of it anywhere. Don't you think that's strange? Also, this mutilation murder case is-"
That day, I went home from school with Himonya while listening to her neverending stories. She was independently collecting strange rumors from the area surrounding Komagaoka City. I think it's a great thing. However, I also felt that it was dangerous for her to disclose these things to someone she had only just met. When I pointed this out, she curled herself up: "Oh, I'm sorry... it's a bad habit." Since she was of small stature, it made her look even more like a small animal. Himonya said that since long ago, she has repeatedly miscalculated the distance between her and other people, and she never managed to make any really close friends. I had sort of guessed that was the case when I heard her self-introduction earlier. As for people who understand her ghost investigation hobby, there are even less, and apparently even her parents often tell her to focus on her studying instead of these sorts of things. "Since you took me seriously, Nanashi, I went a bit too far... I will try to be careful." It hurt a bit seeing her being this apologetic as she was leaning on her cheeks. Because for me, this exchange was nothing more than a part of my mission.
There are still lots of things I don't know. The Organization designated Komagaoka City as the place of investigation because of the fact that there are many strange phenomena occurring around the area, but as for now, I haven't particularly experienced them personally. I think her researching abilities and information network will be of help in my investigation. On the other hand, I am a bit worried. That is, I am concerned that Himonya will eventually encounter Lost Property or learn of the Organization's existence on her own, no matter whether I am involved or not. If she keeps on investigating things like urban legends with such enthusiasm, there is a high enough chance of her coming in contact with the extreme. If that is the case, either her memory will have to be wiped (which poses a high risk for her brain functionality), or she will have to become a forced employee of the Lost Property Control Organization. In any case, she will probably become unable to return to her normal life. "I don't know why she has gotten into ghost research, but if needed, I have to stop her, even if by force," I told myself as I walked home alone after parting ways with Himonya.
